ADVERTISEMENT SPECIFICATIONS/MATERIAL SUBMISSION

Accepted Files:
  • Adobe PDF files created CMYK with hi- resolution print optimized format; all images and fonts embedded.
  • Adobe InDesign files with all images and fonts included.
  • Adobe Illustrator files with all images included or embedded and fonts included or converted to outlines.
  • Adobe Photoshop EPS and TIFF files with layers flattened.
Color Ads:
  • CMYK
  • Minimum 266 dpi
  • 133 line screen
  • 280% maximum density
  • Best black build: 30c, 30m, 30y, 100k
  • Remove all color management profiles.
  • Images and art gathered from websites should not be used.
*FTP Instructions:
  1. Compress files.
  2. Name file according to advertising name and include VeloNews (i.e. xyzbicycles.velonews19.sit).
  3. In a browser window enter: ftp://ftp.insideinc.com
  4. Set FTP transfer mode to BINARY.
  5. User ID: ftpuser
  6. Password: velo.adz
  7. Open INCOMING folder and send files.
  8. Contact Lisa McGinn at 303.245.2126 or email: adproduction@insideinc.com when file transfer is complete.

*All files must be accompanied by a proof created directly from the supplied digital file at 100% size and to SWOP standards.

  • Contract proof (Matchprint or Kodak Approval)
  • Rainbow proof
  • Iris proof

    • Color fidelity or content on press cannot be guaranteed if a contract
    proof is not supplied with your files. A make-good cannot be
    considered if an acceptable proof is not supplied.

Production Charges:
  • A $50 minimum fee applies for any production services such as black
    type changes, reducing ads that are larger than the specified sizes,
    etc. Ad materials will be automatically repeated if new artwork is not
    received by the published ad material due date.
  • NOTE: See Editorial Calendar for material due dates. Material
    extensions MUST be requested by phone or email from the Advertising
    Coordinator.
